Our Wedding Day

It's taken me ages to put some pictures from our wedding day on my website - but I've finally done it... Click here to visit a page all about our wedding.

I will be tweaking this page and adding more new web pages over the next few weeks so keep on coming back.

Meena The Monster Minder

Here's a quick sneak preview of the cover of Meena The Monster Minder - my latest book that is going to be published near the end of May by Pearson. I will add a new webpage to feature the book and tell you more about it as soon as I get chance. The book contains two plays  all about a quick thinking young girl, Meena, and what happens when she visits the Von Kreep family's house to share her expert babysitting and cake making skills with the little monsters...Meena the Monster Minder and Meena the Master Chef.

I love Marcin Piwowarski's illustrations... They really bring the characters to life and there's lots of fun things to look at in the creepy house. You can find out more about Marcin from his website.

Wembley and Happy Birthday to me

I've had a few busy weeks visiting schools and libraries in England and Wales while everyone has been celebrating World Book Day and having book days and weeks of their own - It's been exhausting but lots of fun. On the 25th March I visited Bassingbourn Primary School
in Cambridgeshire and Vicky and Connor came along with me early on Sunday morning so that we could stop off at Wembley Stadium to see Wrexham play Grimsby Town in the FA Carlsberg Trophy Final...

It was freezing cold sitting in the stadium and the game went to extra time and then on to penalties with Wrexham finally winning. We got to our hotel in Stevenage just in time for tea...

We had a nice time yesterday with Laura, Deanna and Chris and we're going to have a lazy day today as it's my birthday... I've got some lovely cards and presents and I'm looking forward to spending a romantic day with my beautiful wife tomorrow when we visit the hotel that we stayed in for our honeymoon... I can't wait.

Damer's First School

This week I've been visiting schools and libraries in Wales - Hello to everyone at Ysgol Bryn Coch in Mold and hello to everyone that came along to Ruthin, Denbigh and Prestatyn Library...

Yesterday I was with the wonderful year three classes at Damer's First School in Dorchester - and I'm back there today too... Looking forward to working on our story.

Boofle accompanied me on the five hour drive from home which I thought was very nice of him... little did I know that he was just hoping for a paddle in the sea. No paddling though as it's wet and windy here (he did insist on going down to the beach to have a look though).

Good Grief...

I can't believe how long it's been since I wrote in my diary... I've been whizzing around England and Wales with Boofle ( here he is driving over the Runcorn Bridge). We've been visiting lots of schools and libraries. I've also been busy writing some new stories (some long and some short) I will tell you about these as soon as I can.

I really do need to make sure that I write more in my diary but don't forget to check out Twitter for up-to-date news and talk about what I'm up to... you can find me on Twitter @damianjharvey

I've been visiting schools and libraries all over the place recently and I've met lots of wonderful and enthusiastic book and story lovers... A big thank you to everyone that has helped with stories and has asked lots of great questions... some of them very tricky... but I always tell people that I will tell the truth  (gulp!) if they want to ask questions about me or writing...

I've been talking about the Mudcrusts quite a bit.. they are a family that lived in the Ice-Age...

This week I've been at Dorridge Infants and the Junior School, as well as Oswestry School... Tomorrow I will be visiting Pannal Primary School in Harrogate and on Friday I will be driving down tio Burton Upon Trent... more about that later.

Robo-Runners

Over the past few weeks I've been busy visiting schools around Great Britain and busy writing new stories.... My publishers have bee busy too. I've recently discovered that Hatchette Children's Books are going to reprint all of The Robo-Runners Books - and are also going to publish them as e-books so that you can download them on your Kobo's, Kindle's and other e-readers....

To make this new publication even better, the lovely people at Hachette Children's Books are publishing the Robo-runners Books with nice new covers.

Here is the cover of the first book - The Tin Man....

What do you think???

Happy New Year and Snow, Snow, Snow...

We've had quite a lot of snow over the weekend but that didn't stop us getting out of the house. On Saturday, Vicky and I went for a walk through Wepre Woods and up to Ewloe Castle... It was lovely walking through the crisp, crunchy snow. The rest of this diary entry is going to be brightened up by a few pictures that I took as we walked along... There are hundreds of castles here in Wales and I'm planning to write a few diary entries about the different one's I come across as I travel around so I will tell you more about Ewloe Caste very soon....

Can't believe that it's been so long since I posted anything in my diary. I had planned to make a New Years Resolution to write a diary post each week.... at least one and hopefully more. So far not so good. This is the first post of the New Year. The time just seems to be flying by.

We had a lovely Christmas and hope that you did too... Right now I'm busy working on some new stories - books of my own and some books for educational reading series that you might see in your schools very soon.

I've had quite a bit of good news over the last few weeks - my Rob-runners books are going to be reprinted with nice new covers - and they are going to be available to download onto Kobo and Kindle e-readers very soon too... I will let you have a look at the new covers soon.

Tomorrow I will be visiting St Anne's Catholic Primary School in Ormskirk (hopefully the snow will stay away until then) and on Thursday I 'm off to the Venerable Edward Morgan Primary School in Shotton (just down the road).

See you all soon....
